Overview
Svenska Dagbladet sought to modernise its visual identity while preserving the heritage of one of Sweden's most established newspapers. I led the development of the graphic and illustrative expression, helping create a cohesive identity designed for both digital and print.
Challenge
The existing identity no longer met the demands of a digital-first audience. Typography lacked legibility across digital platforms, while the visual identity needed to evolve.
Solution
Modernised the logotype to align with the new typography and developed a flexible graphic system inspired by the brand's iconic blue line mark. The result was a contemporary visual identity that scales seamlessly across editorial, digital, and physical touchpoints.
Visual identity for modern times
The visual identity pays homage to previous elements, but appropriates them to meet the standards of modern design.

Dynamic Graphic
Designed as a scalable graphic element, the shape extends seamlessly across the brand ecosystem
